Rajka has developed a unique personal style of painting rooted in the "naïve" tradition, but which has progressed far beyond. Her detailed sketches are colored with blended pigments and are painstakingly applied in rounded, flowing lines with a smooth finish, creating an image where colors merge and change without jarring the eye. Her works have been featured in galleries worldwide, magazines in France, Canada and Japan and in major collections throughout the world. Publications and awards include "Canadian Who's Who", Unicef Greeting Cards, Canadian Heritage Magazine, Hallmark Cards, to name a few. Back to top

Leroy Neiman Paintings
Neiman, Leroy

Best known for his brilliantly colored, stunningly energetic images of sporting events and leisure activities, LeRoy Neiman is probably the most popular living artist in the United States. The artistic style of the fabulously successful Neiman is familiar to a remarkably broad spectrum of Americans --"rich and poor, black and white, urban and rural, educated and illiterate," and young and old alike. He was the official artist at five Olympiads. Millions of people have watched him at work: on ABC TV coverage of the Olympics,as CBS Superbowl computer artist, and at other major competitions, televised on location with his sketchbook and drawing materials, producing split-second records and highly developed images of what he is witnessing. "Before the camera, such reportage of history and the passing scene was one of the most important functions of painters and draftsmen of all sorts. Mr. Neiman has revived an almost lost and time-honored art form," Carl J. Weinhardt observed in the catalog for the exhibition of Neiman's 1972 Olympics sketches, which was mounted that year by the Indianapolis Museum of Art. In the Christian Science Monitor (May 2, 1972), Nick Seitz wrote that Neiman, who has been labeled an American Impressionist, "has the journalistic talent, as well as the artistic ability, to convey the essence of a game or contestant with great impact, from the Kentucky Derby to Wilt Chamberlain, from the America's Cup to Muhammad Ali, from the Super Bowl to Bobby Hull." Renoir Paintings
Renoir

Renoir, Pierre-Auguste (Feb. 25, 1841 – Dec. 3, 1919) was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty, and especially feminine sensuality, it has been said that “Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau”. Renoir was born in Limoges, Haute-Vienne, France, the child of a working class family. As a boy, he worked in a porcelain factory where his drawing talents led to him being chosen to paint designs on fine china. During the Paris Commune in 1871, while he painted on the banks of the Seine River, some members of a commune group thought he was a spy, and were about to throw him into the river when a commune leader, Raoul Rigault, recognized Renoir as the man who had protected him on an earlier occasion. Renoir’s paintings are notable for their vibrant light and saturated color, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions. The female nude was one of his primary subjects. In characteristic Impressionist style, Renoir suggested the details of a scene through freely brushed touches of color, so that his figures softly fuse with one another and their surroundings. His Mediterranean street scene, the cafe orchestra, the piano, and especially the pale-skinned reclining nude women, fill or submerge the canvas in a series of what is certainly the contents of the artist’s sub-conscious as well as his conscious memory, for he is reluctant to let them disappear. Their vitality is unquestionably their foremost feature and stays in our mind’s eye for long after we have left them behind. Back to top

Sabzi paintings
Sabzi

When Sabzi was a child, he watched his mother design and weave Persian rugs. He has said that his basis of form, color, patterns and texture flow from the same source of energy and creativity that inspired his mother. Sabzi's subjects are almost always women, beautiful, graceful, madonnas that reflect solitude. His western influences come from Matisse and Cezanne modernism. Sabzi, however, goes beyond Matisse and creates post-modern images. His treatment of the human face as luminous geometric planes, sheer luminous spaces contrasting sharply with the somber moods of his figures, create a unique style that is world famous. Back to top
